You ever felt like your beauty routine was missing something? I'll tell you what it's missing. It's missing cannabis! Yes love, you can get your beauty & skincare infused with cannabis.
My journey with cannabis began in my younger years. I used it as a mental balancer. It did wonders for my anxiety. As I grew older it became something I used to navigate chronic pain from surgeries & ailments that I had throughout life. It is not a gateway drug and it is very good for a variety of health issues. As I grew older it became something I wanted to research more. I loved it so much that I got a Master Herbalist certificate. I wanted to incorporate it into my purpose. My introduction to the beauty industry began like any other intro. I got my masters license and picked a specialty. My favorite place to do art has always been the face. Skincare was a natural move since it all works hand in hand anyway. I love the idea of promoting natural skincare and beauty that not only enhances but heals.
Below is a definition of our good friend.
Cannabis (/ˈkænəbɪs/) is a genus of flowering plants in the family Cannabaceae. The number of species within the genus is disputed. Three species may be recognized: Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, and Cannabis ruderalis; C. ruderalis may be included within C. sativa; all three may be treated as subspecies of a single species, C. sativa; or C. sativa may be accepted as a single undivided species. The genus is widely accepted as being indigenous to and originating from Central Asia, with some researchers also including upper South Asia in its origin.
The plant is also known as hemp, although this term is often used to refer only to varieties of Cannabis cultivated for non-drug use. Cannabis has long been used for hemp fibre, hemp seeds and their oils, hemp leaves for use as vegetables and as juice, medicinal purposes, and as a recreational drug. Industrial hemp products are made from cannabis plants selected to produce an abundance of fiber. To satisfy the UN Narcotics Convention, some cannabis strains have been bred to produce minimal levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the principal psychoactive constituent. Some strains have been selectively bred to produce a maximum of THC (a cannabinoid), the strength of which is enhanced by curing the fruits. Various compounds, including hashish and hash oil, are extracted from the plant.
In the US, "industrial hemp" is classified by the federal government as cannabis containing no more than 0.3% THC by dry weight. This classification was established in the 2018 Farm Bill and was refined to include hemp-sourced extracts, cannabinoids, and derivatives in the definition of hemp.
THC & CBD are what essentially make cannabis. CBD has a non-psychoactive effect, so you don’t need to worry about getting high once you apply. There is another, sister-ingredient from the cannabis plant that pharmaceutical companies are also very interested in, which is called THC. This is very effective medically at stopping seizures but does have a psychoactive effect.
Known for its healing properties, cannabidiol offers some serious antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits which can be beneficial in treating skin concerns like inflammation, dryness and free radical damage.
CBD & THC might also be effective in fighting acne as it helps reduce the production of sebum in the skin. Additionally, studies indicate that cannabidiol may be effective in treating eczema and psoriasis as well.
You can put cannabis in just about anything. I've done various products with it infused as an oil to get prime results. It can be used alone or in combination with other herbs for an entourage effect. I prefer it as a body butter, scrub, or oil. These products produce a lasting effect because they are massaged and left on the skin.
All cannabidiol-infused products are formulated using full-spectrum CBD oil, broad-spectrum CBD oil or CBD isolate.
Full-spectrum CBD oil contains all the compounds found in hemp, including trace amounts of THC. Broad-spectrum CBD oil, on the other hand, contains a range of cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids derived from hemp, but no THC. THC is the component that gets you high. CBD makes you feel relaxed but it does not make you high. You can get products made with both CBD and THC. You can also get only one or the other. You have so many options!!
CBD isolate is the purest version of CBD. It doesn’t contain any other compounds that you find in a hemp plant. This form of CBD oil is best for facial skin as it's pure, doesn't clog pores and is packed with skin-rejuvenating antioxidants. CBD oil is extracted from the leaves and flowers of the hemp plant. It's a finer and lighter oil. Its benefits to include extreme moisture, an improved skin barrier and an ability to reduce skin sensitivity and produce an over-all more plump, smooth appearance.
We're so excited to get you more information on this natural skincare movement. You'll be able to beam up your skincare and beauty routine indefinitely. Stay tuned!
